<p>Becoming a better husband and father takes time, effort and occasionally being harassed by friends who knows what you want to do and what you’re capable of becoming. There are achievements (finally had a Date Night!) and setbacks (got way too angry at my kid) and having a community for support tremendously helps in the journey.</p>

<p>An issue for all of us is that there can be a lot going on with our kids and it becomes easy for them to become the main topics for Date Night. While figuring out how to make sure your kid keeps his diaper on all night is a very high priority (a manageable amount of laundry is desirable) that topic doesn’t belong in Date Night.</p>
<p>“War Council”  (yes…it is an aggressive name) is time that the two of you can take to walk through those issues and figure out together how to handle them.</p>

It can be very easy to fall into a strictly “team” relationship since what can be most pressing is taking care of the kids. Date Night helps to avoid that.</p>
<p>Carving out time for dates is a little bit more complicated with kids in the picture but as Chuck talks about…if he can figure out how to do it…ANYONE can do it…and it is completely worth the time and effort!</p>
